First real story. Ever. Tell me what you guys think and if you think I should go on. Don't be cruel...
It is in this Museum where we keep those stories and Artifacts of the proud history of all our races. We've just opened and we have our first exhibit here:
The Battle of Et'nauh
LETTERS FROM THE 321ST MOGLIN SQUADRON
It was Midday. The Sun was showering us with light as eighteen of the finest moglins enlisted under the jurisdiction of Commander Vad stood awaiting orders. Today was the 15th anniversary of Drecnor. The day the Moglins of Fhade claimed their independence over the tyrant moglins of the south. Today however, we were fighting a much larger threat, reptiles two or three times larger than any of us.
Many of us were scared. We had seen the horrors of war before but never had we fought an enemy like these. Scenders, like many of us, she was here on her second tour of duty and Holts on his fourth… I wish I could write down more but the Commander is ready for his speech. He was never much of a talker, but when he had something to say everyone paused to hear him out.
Mom, you won't believe it! There was quite a party earlier today, after Commander Vad's speech; the whole squadron seemed gleaming with new hope and excitement over the coming battle. I wrote part of it down.
“…tomorrow we will be fighting a threat that before a week ago was unbeknown to any of us. This enemy has neither good will nor any sort of reason to befriend us. They want us destroyed and seem quite capable of doing so. However, before we met them, what did we do? We held our enemies down. And during our war effort on D’rueh, what did we do? We held them down. Fifteen years ago, what did we do? We held them down! So what are we going to do tomorrow?”
There was quite a loud response to that. I wish you could see me now Mom, I've grown up so much.
Today the troops and I head out. The men are quite anxious. They hope that although our numbers are small and we are quite weak one-on-one that our superior magic can hold the line until reinforcements come. Little do they know that we’re suppose to hold out until the Magi can get the weapon ready. Reag, I really shouldn’t be telling you this but, our plan was never really to defeat them. We where meant to delay them from the city… and then fire the weapon at any cost. We march out at Midday. The earliest you should expect to hear from me again would be the 17th, assuming everything goes as planned.
I’m sorry brother. We could not hold them down. These lizards outflanked us on the third night. They seemed incapable of sentient thought but they coordinately rushed us from the East around midnight while the first moon had risen to its highest. Then they surrounded the majority of us from the North and backed us into the canyon. The Commander and 1st Lieutenant Howard gave their lives to distract them. Those that were left retreated back to camp. I feel it my duty to list the names of those who lost their lives tonight.
Commander Vad, Gunner Seargent Gerd, Captain Scenders, Corporal Jenkins, Private Hoffa, Private Brout, Doctor K. Grey, and Medical Officer J. Grey. I feel terrible about the Grey brothers; they were the first to go. Stupid kids they should’ve run. They kept trying to heal Corporal Jenkins after a beast attacked him.
Before leading the beast away, Commander Vad gave me an envelope. He told me to hand it over to the highest ranking officer alive after the attack. I feel I should at least read what’s inside but I worry what could happen to me if I get caught. Holts is the last person I’d want to have in charge…
I feel it necessary to warn the administration of the following. During the events that happened here tonight, we lost several good Moglins. Our commanding officer, Commander R’Taur Vad is now deceased. Many of the troops here now are injured. We were surrounded during our third night and escaped thanks to the Commanders effort. I have read his orders in an envelope that was only to be read upon him being declared dead. I am now informed on the current meaning of this mission and plan to carry it out as intended: no delays, no questions, no survivors.
P.S. I have reason to believe there is a traitor among us. He shall will be excecuted on sight after I've determined who it is for certain.
It’s been two days since The Incident. The troops and I are getting weary, stressed, and we’re almost running out of supplies. We fear for our lives every waking second. We’ve seen what terrible things these beasts are capable of. We found the letter in possession of Captain Holts. I have to say it was not something we were proud of, but we took affirmative action against him. What he did to Nev, accusing him of treason, and then executing him before us. We knew he was mad then and there.
The remaining seven troops and I are going for the offensive tomorrow. We think we have found a weakness on the creatures. Earlier today when we took action against Holts we noticed that some shrapnel on his body had pierced a creatures underside. It started to bleed violently and then collapsed to the ground. We think they store all their blood and bodily fluids in their stomachs. We are preparing a counter offensive as I write this. I want it to be known what happened on this day, we took the fight to them, and though we plan not to return, we will defeat these vile monsters for the safety of all our peoples for now and the future!
More will be added later, please stop by again soon!
